Who's Who

 Prinicpal – Dr Tim Petterson

Dr Petterson joined St Philip’s Christian College in 2013 as Principal.  Dr Petterson has an impressive and extensive background in Education and Business.  Dr Petterson has led student teams from his former school, The King’s School across Asia, and has also worked to grow international education in schools.



Deputy Prinicpal – Mr Simon Herd

Mr Herd is a dedicated education professional who had extensive involvement in International education with presentations and visits to South Africa, USA, South Korea, Vanuatu.  Mr Herd has a keen interest in supporting our international students staying in Port Stephens to assist them in making this great part of Australia home. As a school we value the diversity and sense of community that International Education brings to our broader community as we grow and learn together. 

Principal Executive Officer of International Education Program – Mr Graeme Irwin

Mr Irwin ensures the provider’s obligations are meet under the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Legislation and the Board of Studies NSW Guidelines for Approved NSW School Providers Delivering Courses to Overseas Students.

Head of Senior School – Mr David McKinnon

Mr McKinnon is Head of Senior School (9-12). The majority of our long-term International Students attend our Senior School with our main intake countries being Vietnam,China and Korea.

Head of Middle School – Mr Glen Urane

Mr Urane is Head of Middle School (5-8). Middle School welocomes our short and long term overseas students. 

Head of Junior School – Mr Brett Allen

Mr Allen is Head of the Junior School K-4 where we mainly have short-term students.

Head of Teaching and Learning – Mrs Cilla Doyle

This position involves oversight of curriculum and teaching programs Kindergarten to Year 12.


International Education Coordinator - Mrs Catherine Mostyn

Mrs Mostyn is passionate about the need for international education at Port Stephens.  Her role oversees the program working with students, families and staff to ensure the student’s and the program’s success.  Mrs Mostyn’s role encompasses the role of International Student Advisor and HomeStay Coordinator. The role of International Student Adviser is to support the students on a range of issues at school throughout the year; to provide opportunities to interact socially and administer the homestay program which we hope will benefit the integration of our students into the college, church and local community. The role of the Homestay Co-ordinator is to administer the College's Homestay program. This involves identifying homestay families, inspecting their homes, matching students to families and insuring the students' wellbeing, safety and happiness.


ESL Teacher – Ms Jayne Carter

Ms Carter is our ESL teacher who works with our short and long term international students. Ms Carter teaches the subjects Fundamentals of English and ESL.
